Recently, the topic about ChatGPT is quite hot. It was released(发布)by a company called OpenAI last
year. Is ChatGPT going to change the world? Let's learn what exactly it is.
What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a computer program that can understand and reply to human language. It can be used for
things like having a conversation or finishing a sentence. Even this sentence that you are reading now was
written by ChatGPT.
That's right—I asked ChatGPT to write a paragraph including a basic
explanation of ChatGPT in simple terms(措辞) and it came up with that
explanation of itself on its own.
What's amazing is that it seems to be a human in its ability to understand
questions and answer them well. “Write a story about Boris Johnson in the style
of Roald Dahl, ”you can ask it, and it'll show you a pretty good children's story.
“Write a list of reasons why London is better than New York, ”and it'll explain how London is more historic
and has better public transport.
One area where I've found it mostly useful is that it can write computer code(代码). Unlike the English
language, when you write code, it has to be very exact and carefully structured—but when I asked ChatGPT to
write me a program that would put some data into a database(数据库)for me, within seconds it showed
something that would have taken me hours to do manually.
▲
It isn't, however, completely human-like. For example, it sometimes shows things that sound true, but are
just nonsense. And it can't do maths. Though it is better at some tasks than others, its ability to rhyme still
needs to be improved.
It doesn't replace(取代)the human completely, but it does many things quicker. In the same way, it's easy
to imagine in the future every time we write something, we may have an unbelievably smart AI helper helping
us get started. So I completely believe that ChatGPT—or something like it—is going to change the world. Our
computers will no longer be just a machine, but our partner too. So, maybe now you have to worry about
whether you can keep your job.
4. Which of the following is NOT true about ChatGPT?
A. It can write a computer program within several seconds.
B. It is released by a company called OpenAI last year.
C. It'll replace the human completely in the future in all fields.
D. It's a computer program that can understand human's language.
5. How does the writer develop the part of “What is ChatGPT?”?
A. By giving examples. B. By listing numbers. C. By making charts. D. By asking questions.
6. Which of the following can be the subtitle (小标题)in the ▲ .part?
A. The advantages of ChatGPT B. The limitations of ChatGPT
C. The introductions of ChatGPT D. The purposes of ChatGPT
7. What might the writer continue to write at the end of the passage?
A. The risks ChatGPT brings to our job. B. The influences ChatGPT has on our bodies.
C. The reasons why we refuse to use ChatGPT. D. The problems we may face while using ChatGPT.

Most of us have made an exercise plan, but only a few can follow it. WebMD(an
American website) has listed the following tips for making exercise a habit in your life.
1. Do activities you enjoy.
Remember, there's no rule that says you have to go to a sports centre or buy
equipment like swimming suits. Many types of activities, such as push﹣up(俯卧撑),
can be done whenever it is rainy or snowy.
2. Exercise after work.
Don't go home first. Few people are so motivated(有动力的) that they will go out again and exercise
after they go home and change clothes.
3. Exercise even when you are tired.
Tiredness is not an excuse. While exercising, you breathe deeply and your body makes better use of the
oxygen exchange. Then, you will feel energetic.
4. Notice that you are better than before.
It's great when your clothes fit better, you can lift heavier things or take exercise longer. There's
something good too, like getting a good night's sleep or thinking more clearly.
5. Walk with a pedometer(计步器)
Not everyone can start out with 10,000 steps a day. Use a pedometer, and find out your daily steps. And
then, try your best to walk 300 extra steps each day. Finally, you can reach 10,000 steps a day.
