Teaching aims:教学目的

知识目标:

1 Enable students to appreciate and classify different

kinds of music by doing the exercise in Warming up ;

2 Gain some information about a band ---the Monkees

能力目标:

1 Developing their abilities to express their feelings on

music and enlarge their knowledge on music;

2 Train the students’reading ability by reading the passage

The band that wasn’t.

Get the students to learn some good qualities from their

idols and love music,love life ;

2 Improve the students’reading, speaking and

summarizing abilities

Why do you admire your idol?

请学生谈一谈最喜欢的音乐家或歌手,并给出原因。教育

优秀品质。

2 Listen and see if you can guess which music matches

which picture.

学习音乐类型,拓展学生的知识面,培养对音乐的兴趣。

Step2 读前

1 Have you heard about any of famous bands in the

words, please list them if you have (Beatles, Back—

2 Introduce something about “The Monkeys”

让学生列举出一些著名的乐队,并简单介绍门基乐队,激

发学生的学习热情去阅读课文,了解门基乐队。

Step3 skimming 快速阅读 听录音回答问题,培养学生的

略读能力,提高阅读速度。

Let the students listen to the tape and find out the

answers to the following questions.

understand the sentences and the main idea of each

paragraph, and then do the ”T” or “F” exercises

2 Do the ”T” or “F” exercises

1).The TV organizers had looked for five musicians who

were lovely and who could make good music.

2).Each week the group that was called “The Beatles”

would play a song or two written by other musician.

3).“The Monkees” broke up in about 1970,but reunited in

the 1980s.

Discussion: Make an interview 讨论:以采访的形式

向门基乐队提出一些问题,考察学生对文章的理解程度,训

练口语。

Suppose The Monkees are invited to China and you’ve

got the chance to attend their concert, which questions

will you ask after learned this passage?

Step6 Summray and homework总结和作业

Writing: write a letter to your idol. The letter must include

these points:

what I know about you
